Ecuador 8-day tour - May 2025
Let’s explore Ecuador and its aviation!
This 8-day includes as much of Ecuador’s aviation as possible: Military aviation of the different branches of Ecuador’s armed forces, police and fire protection, civil aviation, general aviation, and lots of wrecks and relics.
Whether you are an aviation photographer or just a spotter who likes to collect tail numbers, this itinerary has it all: Military bases, international airports, aeroclubs, private hangars, museums, and random aircraft in different places.
Our first tour will take place from May 3 – 10, 2025.

Brief itinerary.
Day 1:
• Arrival in Guayaquil.
• Welcome briefing.
Day 2:
• Wrecks & relics near Guayaquil.
• Helicopters in private hangar in Durán.
• Army aviation School in Guayaquil’s international airport.
• Aero Club del Ecuador in Guayaquil’s international airport.
Day 3:
• Airside spotting at Guayaquil’s International airport.
• Taura Air Force base.
Day 4:
• Escuela Superior Militar de Aviación “Cosme Rennella B.” in Salinas.
• Flight to Quito.
• Preserved Vickers Viscount in private location.
Day 5:
• 15th Army aviation brigade in Sangolquí.
• Nearby wrecks & relics.
• “La Carolina” park in Quito.
• “Mariscal Sucre” air force base & museum.
• Bicentenario park: National Police and Fire brigade.
Day 6:
• 9th Army Special Forces Brigade in Latacunga.
• Air Force Technical School.
• Cotopaxi Air Base, Airport, & DIAF Hangar.
• Armed Forces University.
Day 7:
• Shell Mera Airport: Alas del Socorro hangar.
• 44th Army Aviation Group.
• Nearby wrecks & relics.
• Ambato airport / CIDFAE.
• Wrecks and relics in Píllaro.
Day 8: End of tour. Return flight home.

Important information about our tours.
We know you’ll be coming from far away to see our aviation, and that you’ll be spending a few bucks. That’s why we want this to be a unique and unforgettable experience.
For this we want to mention a few things that are important about our tour:
• A minimum of 10 participants is required for the tour to operate. Maximum capacity: 30.
• We’ll be staying at 4 star accommodations (Wyndham Garden, TRYP By Wyndham, Sheraton, Hilton, Mercure or similar) in a twin room, with breakfast included.
• We’ll work with private transportation operators that will take us to the mentioned destinations in van, bus or coach with climate control (air conditioning / heating) and luggage storage.
• The internal flight to Quito is included in the tour.
• Tickets to/from Ecuador are NOT included. You must coordinate your transportation to arrive in Guayaquil and depart from Quito.
• We’ll be traveling with a local, specialized tour leader fully fluent in English.
• We’ll be traveling with a certified tour guide (as required per Ecuadorian laws).
